Trained at Merthyr Tydfil (Engineering and Electronics) in 1984, where the Sinclair C5 was manufactured by Hoover. Mr Harper is the only official world agent. An authorised dealer from 1985 to the present day. Over this time early C5 design problems and wear related problems have been solved. He has also designed, built and serviced electric bikes, vans and cars.

He has set three electric land speed records, taking a C5 from its original top-speed of 15mph to 150mph with a 0-60mph of 5 seconds, which he designed, built and drove...
... and the worlds first electric vehicle stunt, driving a C5 through a 70ft tunnel of fire.

London auction prices for a Sinclair C5 have established values of -
- £1400 in fine condition without accessories
- £1600 in fine condition with all accessories
Although a C5 in average condition and occasionally fine condition can be obtained for less, the true value of any item has to be based on their recognised auction value.
In the past year C5s have increased in value. Much sought after as an important piece of automotive history, an icon of the 80s and being the worlds first attempt at a truely mass produced electric car (trike).
