All parts are new in their original boxes or bags. The Sinclair C5 is a road going vehicle, it is therefore vital that only new parts be used.

Buying old or even worse, badly repaired and in some cases repainted parts can be dangerous.

Newly available and special offer parts

Number Plate - £4.99 free p/p

These are the original (1985) rear reflective registration plates. A registration number can be supplied or you may wish to have your name or TURBO, SPORT, C5 GTI, BYE BYE, IAM 007, etc...

The personalised number plate can hold a maximum of 6 characters including spaces. If you require a blank space, just leave the relevant box empty.

C5 Battery (remanufactured) - £82.00 + £18.00p/p

The original battery must be used (please refer to page 12 of the C5 owners handbook). Remanufactured batteries come with the correct shaped white double footed casing.

The Sinclair battery is manufactured to 12.8v, but an incorrect newly charged 'car' battery or similar alternative can reach as high as 15v and this will in time, if not immediately, burn out the main control board and possibly the display pod. (There are many non running C5s out there because of this!)

Batteries can be collected filled and charged. Posted batteries have to be sent dry, in which case you will be able to have it filled by your local battery depot with Electrolyte at an approximate cost of £6. The grey battery lid (part 10) MUST be returned with order for correct fitting and contact alignment.

Drive Belts - £18.00 (a)

The unique compound of the C5 belt is designed to extend the life of the gearbox. To further extend the gearbox life it is advised the belt be changed every 1000 miles or as soon as slipping occurs (identified by a click, click type noise). All original belts (even dry-stored C5s) which are now 20 years old should also be replaced.

Tyres (remanufactured) - £29.00 each, front and rear (1 tyre = a, 2 or 3 = c)

All old C5 tyres are 20 years old, and are now DANGEROUS and unfit for road use. Even if they are not visibly cracked they have now dried out and perished.

Remanufactured to original specification using original moulds, they are special low rolling resistance tyres by means of their internal construction. The rubber compound is harder wearing and will give 2 - 3 times the life of an ordinary tyre.

Using the wrong tyres will reduce the battery distance by as much as half and with high rolling resistance will rapidly overheat the motor at which point the C5 will cut out until it's cooled down.
